Dragonfly ATB

Hi everyone,

Today I have an ATB for you.....my very first so please be gentle in your comments :)

This was another thing I found hard to photograph, this was because of the angles so I am afraid what you see is what you get. I think you get to see enough re colours and construction.....with the all bumpy bits hidden.....I am not brave like Ingrid :))

I am entering this in Simon Stamp,Wednesday,Anything goes here and We Do Doobadoo,Add textures here.

The ATB was cut from Mountboard,Inkylicious and cosmic shimmer sprays, distress stains,Wendy V crackle paste blasted with a heat gun,Dylusions and paperartsy stamps, white posca pen.

Hope you like it

Little ATCs

Hi everyone,

Glad you all liked my little Halloween Hunk yesterday :)

Today I have a trio of ATCs for you. These were cut from very thin cardboard to the required size of 3.5x2.5 inches. This was part of a large piece of cardboard that I had worked on, that I have had in my stash for ages that I knew would come in handy one day...I think we all know that feeling don't we.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

A Vintage Journey,A Little Touch of Tim-ATCs only here

Thats Crafty,This is a mans world here

Adirondack paints, decoart crackle glaze, distress embossing powders, cogs were cut from a gelli print, the image is from Tim's found relatives cut into 3.

Kraft with a little touch of spooky

Hi everyone,

A big hello to new followers, lovely to have you here :)

It's really awful here in the UK at the moment, dark with heavy rain for 2 days which of course does not make for great quality picture taking. This is the only picture I could take that was suitable for viewing.....don't you just love the 'Summer'.

I am entering this in Simon Stamp,Monday challenge,Witch Kraft here.

So I thought to myself why not have both? A bit of spooky on a Kraft tag.....with my 'quirky' twist of course :) I do love this stamp,I always think he looks a little sad.

Distress stain, promarkers, white and clear embossing powders, stampotique and tim holtz stamps.

Rolling In The Deep

Hi everyone,

Thanks to all who left some really great advice re watercolour paper and journal pens. I have read all of it and will act upon the info! Its always good to get advice from the experts :)

Today I am entering a new challenge for me (thanks Ingrid for the heads up) and what a brilliant one it is. You have to create a little something based around the emotions and feelings from Adele's gorgeous song,Rolling in the Deep.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rYEDA3JcQqw

This song to me has conjured up sadness really at what could have been but also the strength to carry on after everything seems so bleak. Hence the reason for the cracked heart linked by a rusty wire to the girls heart, its hanging by a thread. The wordings all speak for themselves. I can't believe how the timing of this challenge coincided with my fab new Dylusions stamps arriving,I knew I had just the right stamp for it! I decided to stamp her in vellum so you can still see some of the background through her and I liked the idea of her being quite wraith like while all around her the world is still alive with colour.

This is being entered in the following challenges:

Mixed Media Place,Summer Music.Vol 2 Adele challenge here.

Pan Pastel UK,Bold and Bright here

Pop along and have a look at both blogs, they have the most amazing DT makes on there.

Greyboard,Brusho paints (yes they are that intense),vellum, rusty wire, white posca pen, crackle paste tinted with ONE little speck of rose red Brusho. The stamps are all Dylusions apart from the sentiment which is Donna Downey.

Hope you like it

Give your grumpy some wings

Hi everyone,

Well another quick week nearly gone but a Bank holiday for most of us in the UK=more craft time.

Before I show you the card I created.....sadly this took longer then nearly 7 minutes,I have a couple of questions which I would be really grateful if someone could pop a little reply to me on. Firstly, for those of you that use the stuff, whats the best reasonable priced watercolour paper to use for most things? Secondly, can anyone recommend a really good black pen thats good for journalling with? I have heard PITT pens are good, does anyone know?

Right, todays card is featuring the wonderful Grumpy Koala. I have taken the birds off his head this time and given him butterfly wings but he still looks fed up....there's no helping some people is there!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Fussy and Fancy challenge 121,Pets or Favourite Animals here

Simon stamp Monday,Anything Goes here

I was thinking of doing something fancy with a picture of my cat but then decided that she's had enough exposure lately and she might start getting big headed so went for Grump K instead :)

Distress inks,clarity butterfly stencil,cosmic shimmer spray,stampotique stamp.

Have a great weekend everyone

The Speed Craft Challenge

Hi everyone,

Today,in conjunction with these wonderful ladies: IngridPamelliaNikkiKeren,I am doing a speed craft challenge.Basically, seeing how far I can get in 10 minutes! Please pop along to the other luscious blogs to see how they all got on....probably far better then me :))

These ladies are not only uber talented but lovely to know also, thank you all for being you! A special thanks to mega talented Pamellia who designed our new logo, gorgeous isn't it.

We were allowed to gather all our supplies together first then hit the stopwatch....so I used my beloved IPod. Now what to do....a tag or a card? Fresco paints or distress inks or sprays? Headache? Yes? Would I do it again.........YES!

Of course I couldn't take pictures as I went along for obvious reasons but my cat can vouch for the fact it was done today in 10 minutes.....no bribery of  fishy treats were offered to her......honest......

Its amazing how much your heart starts beating when you are under pressure....and how much aggravation you get! Like a numpty I decided to do this now.....I have included a pic of my cat because she was a complete pain this morning resulting in me giving her a sponge brush to quieten her down so I could get crafting! Considering it all, I am pleased with the outcome.

Well here it is.....TA DA

PEST

SUPPLIES GATHERED

TIME FINISHED.....NOT BAD!

TAKEN LIVINGROOM WINDOW

ANOTHER VIEW

Whew, seriously worn out now but all good fun. Its amazing what you achieve in that time though and cuts out all the dithering too!

Disclaimer: No animals were harmed in the making of this product.

Hope you like it and what my lovely blog buddies have produced for you all too :)

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all okay and getting ready for the weekend.

Thought I would show you the first of my August 2014 Tim inspired tags. This is the second one, I made it today, but I am showing this one first as its been done a little bit different whereas the other one I created yesterday has stuck more closely to Tims tag......if all this makes sense!

Unfortunately, you will be seeing a LOT of this die....you have been warned. Seriously though, its amazing how many different looks you can get from it just by changing the materials you use. I die cut this one from cardboard and covered it in 4 different Tim Holtz tissue tapes.

Tie dye Ingrid

Hi everyone,

For those of you in the UK,phew it's been a wet few hours! Even had some rainwater coming into the airing cupboard.......don't ask how but I was not too impressed :(

Anyway,a double delight for you today. Firstly,I am using the lovely new stamps designed by the fab Darcy from Paperartsy and secondly the background I have stamped them on was sent to me by the wonderful Ingrid. She created them using the technique she shows here. Please pop over and have a look as you can get some wonderful effects from this technique. Luckily for me,Ingrid has kindly sent me a few and I have been having fun using them,so there is more to come. I am lucky to have such a generous crafty friend huh :)

On time

Hi everyone,

The subject for today is time. I think as you get 'older' shall we say, time does seem to go by at an alarming rate,I mean it's August already....how did this happen?! I am entering my tag into A Vintage Journey,Time Flies here. I resisted the strong urge to add wings to everything...you know me and winged things, so instead delved into my ephemera (great word) thrift shop pack from Mr Grunge and found a rather lovely school certificate in it thats rewarding a pupil for being on time, how perfect is that?! So I built the whole theme around that because let's be honest being on time is important....well to me anyway....but then I am sad like that :)

Fresco paints,Inkylicious and lost coast stamps, the cogs were die cut from gelli plate prints, thrift shop and found relatives images.

Hi everyone,

Creative Blog Tour

Hi everyone,

Something a little different for you all to enjoy today. Warning, this is a long post,so go grab a tea, coffee, cocktail ( maybe all 3) and relax!

As we all know, there are so many talented and wonderful artists out there in blogland and what better way to spread the arty love then to create a rather wonderful creative blog tour to showcase some of them and then pass it on.

When the lovely and mega talented Jan from Jans Arty Junk first asked me if I wanted to join in I was really flattered that she would think of me and of course said yes.....then worried about it all after!!

Jan

Jan's Blog

Jan really does create the most wonderful, shabby and vintage creations.....second only to the master of grunge himself! Her attention to detail is stunning and you can just gaze at her creations all day long wondering how she has created them and she is also a dab hand with her knitting needles as well! Pop along to Jan's little piece of blog heaven to see her creative blog tour post here and while you are there, feast your eyes on all the eye candy :)

As part of the blog tour,we were given a list of four questions to answer so people could get to know a little more about other creative bloggers.

What am I working on

Well, I am afraid at this point it would be nice to show you a craft room the size of a craft shop that I create in but I haven't got one, sadly. My work is done at the kitchen table and the kitchen is undergoing an abandoned revamp so I have taken some pictures of a few things outside. I do have a rather lovely summerhouse but to be honest its far to hot to use in this weather....more like a sauna room!Apologies for the glare,a sunny day out there.

Loads of background tags just patiently waiting to be finished

Some greyboard, stuck for more ideas on these!

And of course,a lovely new block of stamp carving to be done

How does my work differ from other of its genre?

Difficult to say really. We all have our own style and to be honest we probably might say we haven't but then somebody could point out things we haven't noticed that we do in our work all the time. As I haven't been doing this mixed media long,I am still learning a lot and finding new styles I like all the time. I would like to think though that any style I may have is very varied, I love all colours and mediums. If you pushed me for an answer,I would say I do love the steampunk/grungy style but I certainly do not stick to just making that. There is too much out there and so much fun to be had just experimenting :)

Why do I write/create what I do?

Hmmm another hard question, who wrote these?! I suppose its a relaxation thing and a way to express yourself. I need to create arty things now or else I feel there's something missing somewhere. I have always been ' arty', I used to do a lot of drawing and used to make a load of stuff out of FIMO. As I am typing this up now I am just dying to get it finished so I can go create!!!

How does your writing/creating process work?

Sometimes I have an idea of what I want to achieve so its just a case of gathering all my supplies together and creating. Most times I just sit at the table and think of a colour scheme and then just take it from there. I have noticed though that sometimes you can make a load of things and other times you can just sit there blankly and nothing will come into your head. Also,I know I am not the only one on this, but how comes you can't think of anything all day but as soon as you go to bed.....wide awake and a million and one crafty ideas pop straight into your head!

Well,I hope you are all still awake after all that and not thinking to yourselves what is this woman rambling on about :)

Now, I would love you to meet 2 rather fantastic ladies who make the most wonderful art too, please pop along to their blogs and see why I love their work so much.

Ingrid

from

I totally adore Ingrid's work as its so colourful and always presented in such a happy, positive way. She loves to experiment and is always generous when she finds something new, she's loves to share it so we can all try it. She uses a wide variety of styles and techniques so there is something for everyone there to enjoy. Ingrid not only is very talented but also a lovely, warm person who has become a friend too. I think she is set to become a superstar in the crafting world so keep an eye on her :)

&

Susi

from

Susi creates some wonderful work. Her use of colours are so vibrant and alive, she does some fantastic free hand drawings too. She has such a sense of fun that shines right through her art,I get so excited when I see a new new post from her as I know we are going to be in for a treat. Her flowers are just stunning and I am always inspired by her, her blog is the place to go if your mojo has gone as Susi will get it back for you. Susi too has become a good friend :)

If you don't already follow these 2 fantastic ladies, please pop along and have a peek at what they are creating, you won't believe your eyes!

Cor,I now feel like a teacher writing school reports on 2 school kids....hope their families don't come and tell me off lol

Oh,before I go,I apologise if the formatting is not great. I tried to get the photos to link directly to the blogs but failed to do it,read various instructions but......so if anyone out there can teach a complete numpty like me anything about blogger please get in touch.

Hope all this makes sense.....if not blame my cat :)

See the stars

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all okay out there and not spending all your money on craft supplies.....what.....that's just me then?!

Yep,gone and ordered 2 more Stampotique stamps.....will be going into Craft Rehab soon.....

Loads of new challenges out there at the moment as it's the start of the month so a busy creative time coming up. When I saw this challenge over at Country View Challenges,Word Play here,I knew just the stamp I was going to use for it. I ordered a couple of stamps direct from Donna Downeys shop and had them shipped from America as they were doing free shipping then. Yes I know, how did I limit myself to just two!! Seriously though, the shipping costs from America are stupidly high,it's frustrating really as all the products are so much cheaper then over here though.

Anyway, here's the tag, photographed with a few different backgrounds thrown in for good luck!

Inkylicious sprays (these are seriously yummy),Decoart metallic pearl paint,Dutch doobadoo stencil, clear embossing powder,Donna Downey stamp, frantage, micron pen.

I love this wording, need to get even more wordy stamps!

Hope you like it
