Painted industrial - Take Two

Hi everyone,

I have just received 2 stampotique stamps, was supposed to be 3 but the original people I ordered from let me down so anyway I only have 2 now but wow they are gorgeous lumps of red rubber on wood....doesn't take much too make us happy does it?!

I thought I would have another go at the painted industrial technique, which is one of the best, everything looks good with metal tape doesn't it......although with an ultra furry cat around it can sometimes can get a bit tricky!

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

This is my 2nd entry for CC3C,Painted Industrial, which is generously sponsored by Inspiration Emporium here

Craft Hoarders Anonymous,Who's the Boss here

Tag Along, Steampunk here

That Craft Place,Anything Goes here

Try it on Tuesday,Things with Wings here

Distress paints,metal tape,alcohol ink,crackle paint,real rusty tin wings,rusty wire,rust powder,found relatives image,Tim Holtz embossing folders,die cuts and various other bits and pieces.

Hope you like it

Just make it yourself

Hi everyone,

Thanks to everyone for all your lovely comments lately,a big group hug to you all! Susi,I love your hunter and gatherer comment re collecting craft supplies, brilliant!

Today over at Simon stamp Monday challenge here, they want us to be inspired by anything with the letter J however you want to interpret it. Hmmm I thought of all the obvious ones but thought hey let's be a little bit off the wall with this one and choose J for Just. As you know,I have been making a few of my own supplies lately,so on Saturday I was sitting there with a blank tag, thinking of what to make and hating all my stamps ( as you do occasionally ) then I thought, just make something yourself! So everything on this tag has been hand drawn and the words are from a stencil I made myself. Does all this make sense?!

Various colour sprays, gesso stamped circles using a toilet roll, metallic decoart paint for the lettering, posca pens in black and white, black micron pen.

I really must buy a journal, then I can just doodle to my hearts content :)

Hope you like it

A little sharing

Hi everyone,

Hope no-one has melted in this heat in the UK.....or more importantly let's hope none of our art supplies have melted eh?!

I think I have developed a major problem. I may have mentioned it before,it's called 'looking at blogs and seeing stuff that I then want....and get' syndrome. Maybe there should be a self help group set up called 'Addicted Crafters Anonymous' to help poor saps like me! Seriously, some of these things I never knew existed until I see them on blogs, then I think, ooh that's lovely, must get that! Maybe I should be made to sit with the heat gun on for 5 minutes in this heat as punishment :)

Anyway, thought I would share with you today a couple of tags that winged their way to Germany and
America, can't believe how the tags arrived at exactly the same time! One was for Silvia and the other was for Annie.

Firstly, this is the brilliant artwork I received from these 2 wonderfully talented ladies

Obviously had to blot out my address in case there are any mad stalkers out there lol. I think Silvia has started off my love of all things Stampotique now....have 3 stamps on order so you have been warned,my art is all set to become a little wacky!

And these are the tags that I made for them

This is what I love about craft blogging. No barriers with language, cultures, age, race or distance. We all love the same thing and appreciate each other's work. I even get great enjoyment if someone that follows me or I follow wins something, one big happy crafty family!

Phew, sorry long post, didn't mean it to be!

Take care everyone

Painted industrial style

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is okay out there this Friday.

Question for you all,do you find that when it comes to getting to sleep your brain is ticking over thinking arty thoughts that for some reason seem to be absent during the day when you are trying to create?! Is it just me?

Today's offering is a tag for CC3C,Painted Industrial, challenge 7 here. Once again this challenge is sponsored by the generous people at http://www.inspirationemporium.com.

I thought I would have trouble photographing this one as it's quite shiny but I think it's okay. Really must get a light box or make one! I have chosen 3 different backgrounds as I can't decide which one I like the best!

Fresco paints, dylusions and inkylicious sprays, distress inks and paints, metal tape, memory box stencil, rust powder, crackle paint, tim holtz and Unity stamps, die cuts and embossing.

Hope you like it

Nice weekend everyone

Poppy time

Hi everyone,

Thanks to you all for the lovely comments yesterday on my stamp carving efforts. I made another 3 stamps last night, sadly I have now finished that block but have another one on order......stamp carving withdrawal symptoms today :(

I really hope I have encouraged some of you to try it,it's so easy yet so satisfying. I would never have dreamt of doing something like that months ago but as you get more confident with your art I suppose you experiment more.

Anyway, today I am entering Simon stamp Wednesday, emboss it challenge here

Greyboard, distress inks, fresco paints, distress markers, grunge paste mixed with black decoart paint for the embossed poppies (then sanded back for shading),paperartsy and art journey stamps,stampendous/that special touch/prima stencils.

Stamp carving

Hi everyone,

Thought I would share with you all today my stamp carving exploits. Firstly,it's so enjoyable and I would really encourage everyone to have a go. It's not really expensive and you can save a fortune on background type stamps. I have just ordered a Julie Fei Fan Balzer book also on stamp carving,so hopefully that will provide some more tips and ideas :)

All I would say is start simple until you get the hang of it and know when to stop! It it looks finished and okay, then leave it!

First picture, modelled by my able assistant Saffie,is the starter kit I am using....not sure she was particularly happy in this picture :)

And here you can see a couple of backgrounds I have made with the stamps and the stamps of course.

I particularly like the Ellen Vargo inspired one on the left.

I hope you like it and it's maybe encouraged you to try it out :)

Tagging along

Hi everyone,

Phew,too hot here at the moment.....not very pleasant using a heat gun :{

My stamp making kit has arrived,so that's my weekend sorted then! Hopefully I will be able to carve at least one thing out of the block that looks reasonable enough to show :)

Been naughty as well,I follow the wonderful Donna Downeys blog and she is currently offering free shipping on her stamps and journals....I HAD to buy 2 little word stamps....I think I was very restrained.....considering.......I think stamps are like clothes, you never seem to have something you  need when you look!!

Anyway,a tag for you today which I am entering in Artful Times,Challenge 60,A Tag here

Distress paints, distress markers,inkylicious/dina wakley/art journey and homemade stamp, sentiment from Darcy's blog and postage stamps from lovely Silvia.

I think I finally like my distress markers now, still can't use them properly but hey ho!

Gingko birdy

Hi everyone,

A warm welcome for my new followers, lovely to have you here and I hope you all continue to see something you like.....or something that you think nah don't want to try that.....only joking.....sort of.....

Anyway, today's offering is done on greyboard and I am entering this for Just Us Girls challenge #248 Bird here

I was inspired to do this as the lovely Ruth and Silvia, who both create the most wonderful art, used gingko leaves in two of their gorgeous images. As I didn't have any gingko leaves ( I didn't even realise the trees grew in Europe ) I hunted for a stencil and eventually found one. The lovely Silvia has now kindly sent me some real gingko leaves so I am going to use them now as they are far superior to the stencil :)

Tag it

Hi everyone,

Can I just say a big thank you for all the lovely comments left on yesterday's post. I am so glad you liked it,I must say though that Tim's found relatives cards are brilliant,so versatile. Interestingly enough (well for me anyway) while browsing through pinterest as you do,I think I have found 2 of the original pictures for the 'paperboy' stamp set from Artistic Outpost. It's quite heart rending when you look at them actually, may try printing them out and see what I can do with them.

Oh yes I nearly forgot, I got told off yesterday as I said 'the' other half rather then 'my' other half re the Tour de France viewing. So MY other half enjoyed himself yesterday......so if he reads this at some point today that should please him.....thankfully  the  my cat is less fussy!!

A tag for today that I am entering in Craft Hoarders Anonymous challenge #11, Tag you're It here

Distress inks, fresco paints, home made stencil, dina wakley and art journey stamps, pro markers.

Make it yourself

Hi everyone,

A warm welcome once again for my new followers and the continuing lovely comments all you lovely crafty people leave me. Please feel free to leave me a comment if you have any questions on anything I have done/used or if there is something you would like to see more of. I would love to make this blog more interactive and interesting for you all :)

Today is a big exciting day for the other half as the Tour De France is coming round our neck of the woods so he has gone off for hours waiting for that. I do like it but sitting around waiting for men in Lycra to pass by when you could be crafting or drinking tea at home.....hmmm.

Today, this offering on greyboard is for Simon stamp Monday, Start from Scratch challenge here

Fresco paints, crafters workshop stencil ( this one is brilliant by the way ), Tim's found relatives image, sentiment from Darcy's blog. The plaque at the top was cut, painted and clear embossed to look like enamel. Cog was die cut from metal tape on cardboard and some treasure gold wax applied. Paper from my paper stash cut into arrow shapes at the ends and a flower made from a cardboard flower in my stash with Tim's metal word disc.

I just had to highlight the little child at the end, take a look and see what you think. Wonder what became of them all?

Beachy July 2014 tag

Hi everyone,

Wow,a big hello to my new followers,I do get like an excited child when I see more people joining. It's so lovely for me to come and check out your blogs too.......just please don't post anything on your blogs that may tempt me to buy more supplies.....I am talking about you Silvia.....guess who went and ordered those Dina Wakley face stamps last night after looking at your latest tag.......I have no art supplies willpower!

Hmmm, anyway, today I have finally finished my version of Tim's rather scrummy July tag,I think that is one of my favourite ones he has done. This really tested me as I mentioned before,we don't have those dies and embossing folders in the UK yet so it took a bit of thinking! You will notice that all the pictures have been taken with the tag laying flat.....I didn't want to chance propping it up as I wasn't too sure more bits of the 'sand' wouldn't start falling off so thought best to keep it flat!!

The seahorse was hand drawn by myself as I just don't have any seahorse type dies! Distress paints and inks, metal tape, Tim's embossing folders, crackle accents, pinecone leaves die cuts and a million and one other things!

I am entering this in Tim's July 2014 challenge here and That's Crafty,All at Sea challenge here

Hope you like it......going for a lie down now!

Punk up my steam

Hi everyone,

Sorry about the post title today......the sun must have got to me!

A big hello to my new followers,I really am so touched when someone joins up,I do appreciate all of you looking at my little tiny corner of the vast blog land :)

I am currently wracking my creative brain cell trying to think of a way of doing Tim's July tag as unfortunately in the UK we don't have any of the dies or embossing folders that he used! Ah well suppose that makes it more interesting.....

Anyway, today's offering is a tag made for one of my favourite challenges at SanDee & Amelie's Steampunk challenge, Inventions and Inventors here

Fresco paints,Ellen Vargo stamp. Images are die cut toppers from a German company, they do all different types but as soon as I saw this one I had to get it!

Stencil love

Hi everyone,

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my post yesterday, glad you all liked it,phew!

A big hello to a new follower as well, lovely to have you here :)

Right, today is a perfect challenge for me over at Country View challenges,Stencil It here

I absolutely adore stencils,I have quite a few now and most of my work seems to have a bit of stencilling in it somewhere. I don't have a favourite make as such as I love them all but some are more sturdy then others.

Greyboard, grunge paste, fresco paints, distress inks, treasure gold wax,2 crafters workshop stencils, die cuts from TH trellis die,sam poole stamp for the sentiment. The flowers were then sanded back to give the 'worn' effect.

Hope you like it
