Back to grunge

Hi everyone,

Friday here so soon again.

After the 'trauma' of this week,I had to go and buy some more supplies to cheer myself up.....poor excuse I know! I do blame this blog hopping business, the lovely Claudia featured some grungy Stampendous stamps on her blog.....had to have them of course....just arrived today....will get them inky later! Rather interestingly (well for me anyway),I purchased a stamp from French brand Carabelle,it's white rubber which is different. Will show you the results tomorrow maybe, this is my never ending quest to buy every brand of stamp on the planet hah!!

Anyway,a tag for you today back in the style of grungy and vintage. I am entering this in Lets get Shabby challenge #56 here. It's all about using transparencies,so I have used one as the lightbulb on the tag.

Fresco paints, paperartsy stamp, the transparency is from Hot Off The Press, image is from crafty individuals, die cuts, embossing and washi tape etc!

Have a great weekend everyone

Oh nearly forgot, big hello to my new followers, you are very welcome :)

They are featuring American Crafts products this week and guess what? Yes I have a rather funky paper pad from them so I thought I would use some of it on this card.

The sentiment is from an Art Journey stamp.

Thank you all so much for all the kind comments re my cat. She is fine now, just very tired! She's a ragdoll so only goes out in the garden and she is very spoilt so all this has been a bit of an experience for her!

Hope you like the card

Think I am back now!

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is okay out there.

Well thanks to Blogger playing up I have not been able to visit any blogs as I couldn't see anything as the view more button has not been working! If you have had the same problem you know how frustrating it's all been grrrrrrrr! So apologies for lack of comments on all your masterpieces,I haven't seen any of them! To top that,my lovely cat decided to eat a rather large lump of grass which stuck in her throat.....so down to the vets for an operation to remove it.....one grumpy cat and a £200 quid bill later........

Anyway, hopefully everything is alright now so to celebrate being back a piece done on greyboard for you which I am entering in Craft Hoarders Anonymous challenge #10 here

Fresco paints, grunge paste, stencils are clarity stamp, dylusions and Dutch doobadoo, paperartsy and dina wakley stamps, distress inks.

Shimmer and shine

Hi everyone,

Just taking a break from stripping the kitchen wallpaper.....on a very warm day.....with neck ache......great......it's amazing how much bigger a room is then you think when you come to start decorating it!

Sorry, another question today! Has anyone got a Gelli plate, I just wanted to know if anyone has and if they use fresco or distress paints on it or do they dry too quick? I am now hooked on the wonderful Barbara Grays blog and all the gorgeous Gelli plate stuff on there....I have said many times,do not look at other peoples blogs....ITS DANGEROUS!!

Anyway,I have managed to make a little something on greyboard again,I am entering this in Vintage Journey,Wings and Things challenge here.

I took this at 2 different angles so you can hopefully see the shimmer on it.

Watch the birdy

Hi everyone,

A big welcome to new followers, lovely to have you here,it really is.

Thank you for all the comments left re rubber stamps.I think I am just one of those people that can't stamp very well....not all the time but some of the time!! Maybe my hands are too little or I don't have enough strength :)

Anyway,a tag for you today for a change. I am entering this in That's Crafty,The Birds challenge here

I have altered the lovely bird stamp from paperartsy for this, chopping off the legs and putting umbrella girls stripy legs there instead, also the tail, now has one of Darcy's words (see her blog for details,as mentioned in a previous post). Never usually do that to a stamp but I just think it fitted better with this tag like that.
Also sadly, I have been bad and given in and ordered Dina Wakley's scribbly birds stamps. They are expensive but they look so adorable and I can use them in so many different ways.........

Fresco paints,cosmic shimmer sprays,paperartsy stencil,grunge paste,paperartsy and tim holtz stamps,promarkers,white posca pen.

Hearts and diamonds

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all okay out there in crafty blog land.

Quick question today, what's everyone favourite make of rubber stamps? I must say I am so impressed with those Art Journey stamps that I received last week, they stamp beautifully but unfortunately I do have some rubber stamps that are just meh! The problem is these stamps are so expensive so if you pick ones that aren't great stampers then it's a bit annoying! Comments welcome please, especially about the lesser known stamp manufacturers.

Anyway,I have a card for you today....thanks for the tips re keeping a white card white!

I am entering this in Craft Stamper,Bleach Blocking challenge here

I used a stencil for the bleach blocking technique. Really liked this new to me technique but I think next time I need to put the wet sponge applicator for a little less time against the stencil as I didn't realise how quickly it worked!

Distress inks, wendy vecchi stencil, Art Journey stamps. The heart spheres were stamped on a Hampton Art paper pad I have then cut out. The single heart was punched out.

Flower and stripes

Hi everyone,

A special hello to Claudia and Astrid for now following me,2 wonderful ladies whose artwork as you all know goes beyond being inventive and inspiring! I can't tell you how happy that makes me when you have someone whose work you can't wait to see when they have created a new piece, actually looks at something you have made : )

I think the most difficult thing about this blog is thinking up titles for each post! I think I may have duplicated some trying to be smart no doubt, sorry about this one, pretty lame I know!

Anyway,on greyboard today,my offering for Simon stamp Monday,Anything Goes challenge here

Distress paints, grunge paste, frantage,Ellen Vargo stamp, memory box and wendy vecchi stencils, black sharpie and white posca pen.

Little hearts

Hi everyone,

A big hello to new followers and a special hello to the lovely Emma. I think I might review all my blogs I follow at sometime, they are all inspirational but some of you out there....wow,I don't know where you get the ideas from! I do think sometimes I get even more enjoyment from looking at everyone's blogs then creating any artwork!! I have attended no classes whatsoever, not even taken TH creative chemistry courses so everything I do has been inspired by others via blogs, pinterest or YouTube,so a heartfelt thanks from me for all you kind and generous people out there who share all your creative processes.

Right, today is a piece on greyboard using some new stamps I got through the door this week. As I mentioned on previous posts, this is the danger of looking at blogs....you see things you never knew existed! My new stamps are from Art Journey in Holland and Clearly Besotted in the UK. I love them all and may I just say the service received from both companies was fantastic.....I will be back!!

I am entering this in Clearly Besotted,Anything Goes challenge here

Fresco paints, frantage, the hearts are Clearly Besotted stamps and umbrella girl and sentiment are Art Journeys.

You need wings

Hi everyone,

Today I have a winged thing for you.I do seem to like adding wings to things, can't explain why just that I like it!This is done on greyboard and I am entering it in Fussy and Fancy Friday,Things with Wings challenge here

This took me ages, trying to get all the background stamping muted nicely! For some reason it's come out bluer then it really is as there's purple in there,I can't retake the picture today as it's a really dull and dreary day now but just to let you know that's it not just a shade of blue only!

Fresco paints,dylusions stencil,distress paint,crackle paint,the stamps are; cart us,kanban and flonzcraft,promarkers.

The sentiment is from Darcys blog here. They are great,so you will be seeing them a lot on my work now. It's so kind of her to do it as we all need a little wackiness don't we?!

This is for my father in law as sadly my own dad passed away just over a year ago,he is much missed everyday. I thought I would make this so my OH could give his dad this on Sunday.

To all you card makers out there.....how on earth do you keep a white card white?!? The amount of times I washed my hands during this but I still managed to get a little smudge on it!

Just remembered my entry for CC3,challenge 4, (layering stencil, texture paste) here and generously sponsored by The Funkie Junkie here.

Done on greyboard using this little sweetheart from TH found relatives pack,I thought she needed wings! The wings are made from real rusted metal and they needed the old hot glue gun treatment to keep them in place!

Paint the birdy

Hi everyone,

A big thank you and hugs to my new followers, really makes my day.

It's really hot here in the UK at the moment so have to choose between gardening and crafting!

Anyway,a tag for you today featuring another birdy stamp, can't go wrong with a cute birdy can you?! This one weirdly reminds me of my cat rather then Woodstock....it seems to have some attitude which is what I am subjected to when I fill up her majesty's food bowl!

I am entering this in Simon stamp Monday,Paint challenge here

The background and the bookplate are all distress paints. Paperartsy stamps, glossy accents, promarkers and wonderful frantage.

I heart June 2014 tag

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is okay now that Friday is here : )

As it's a lovely day here in the UK ( for a change ) I thought I would take pictures of my entry for Tim Holtz June 2014 tag challenge here in the garden.

I thought about how to do this months tag. I do have the exact same butterfly stamp that was used but I wanted to do something different after doing the background that Tim demonstrated. I used the arrow stencil for this one as I just received it this week so was thought that was a good starting point!

Tim holtz stencil and stamped sentiment, distress inks, distress paint ( large heart ),frantage ( pink heart ),ranger embossing verdigris powder ( green heart ),rock candy glitter with distress ink ( red heart),decoart metallic purple paint. The ribbon was done with a load of distress inks but the peacock feathers and mowed lawn colours seem to have overtaken everything else!

Hope you like it

Nice weekend everyone

Warning...this could hurt your eyes!

Hi everyone,

Well I did warn you, don't blame me if you are blinded by it!

This is my new favourite surface to work on,paperartsy greyboard. I have had a couple of packets in 2 different sizes sitting around for a few weeks, I thought I would take a break from the tags and try these out. They are superb, they handle anything thrown at them plus you can stamp directly on them unlike most canvasses which are a pain for that. They are also super cheap and I love em!

Anyway,I made this yesterday for entering into Our Creative Corner,Must use Orange challenge
here

See it's really orange!! Fresco paints, wendy vecchi stencil, inkylicious stamp, distress inks, colour sprays including a bright orange glimmer mist one on the crinkle ribbon.

Hope you like it....I think it even glows in the dark!

Tag you're it!

Hi everyone,

I have created some artwork on some lovely paperartsy greyboard so will be showing that soon....if you behave yourselves that is : ) I highly recommend it,some great sizes and takes all types of medium really well and a great price too!

Anyway, back to being tag lady today.I thought something a little different for today's 'treat'.....a black background. I really am not adverse to using any colours or shades although I have noticed my work does have a lot of greens and browns.....I suppose you like what you like!

I am entering this in Crafty Individuals,Tag you're it challenge here

Chalkboard paint, fresco paint, frantage. The image is from a little book of photos from crafty individuals which is gorgeous, really varied.

Hope you like it
